Insurance companies will often replace equipment that has been exposed
to smoke, water or chemical contaminants, which can be very costly.
However, it has been proven that it is often far more cost effective
and efficient to decontaminate and restore electronics and equipment
rather than replace them.
This is particularly true in a high tech, commercial, medical, and
manufacturing environment in which equipment delivery lead-time often
means significant downtime (sometimes up to 12-18 months), which can
add hefty losses to the claim.
Furthermore, when new equipment arrives, it often requires additional
time for installation, set-up and staff training; and this can
translate into further downtime and expenses.
